Model Homes That Sell

Painted in Waterlogue

We love designing model homes that actually sell. A model home shouldn’t just be about pretty colors or furniture – it’s all about merchandising a home so that potential buyers will fall in love wth the floorplan and finishes.

This Lifestylist Designed model home that we did for @homeBuilders accomplished that – the colors, lifestyle and furniture placemant made this a home that you wouldn’t forget.

I am crazy about this new model home for @home Builders in Baldwinsville, NY. This beautiful Lifestylist® Designed cottage home is in the Timber Banks community which has it’s own Jack Nicklaus golf course and marina on the Seneca River.

The homes feature spacious yards and places to walk a dog, so we thought “puppy love” would be the perfect theme for this home. What do you think?

Timeless Home Design

Coral Sitting

The Louisville Manufactured Housing Show was held this week, and hundreds of manufactured housing buyers attended the event that had 48 homes showcasing what’s new in home design.

It motivated me to revisit the homes that Lifestylist Design had merchandised for Patriot Homes over the years and I came across this one. It’s the perfect example of timeless design, or even deign ahead of it’s time. Drapery panels instead of fussy valances? Yes. High flat ceilings? Yes again. Soft muted colors accented by fabrics and accessories? Exactly what we are seeing today. Believe it or not, this was a home that was shown 8 years ago!

This is a perfect example why great design will never go out of style. When looking for your new home look for ideas that aren’t trendy but are something you want to live with for a long time. By adding color in items that can easily be replaced like fabric, furniture and accessories you’ll always be in style.

The Martha Stewart American Made Competition

Babette
It’s so hard to find companies that only make American Made products these days, but what’s even rarer than that is a woman owned company that is over 20 years old and only sells American Made products.

Babette Holland was making beautiful furniture, vases, mirrors, and accessories in her Tribeca NY studio when the World Trade Center was hit only blocks from her. She has always been an advocate for animals and was a huge influence before and after for getting animals off the streets and into loving homes.

Shortly after that she was diagnosed with MS, but was worried about what the effect would be on her business if her clients and others knew she was struggling with this disease. She shared in her own words on our Lifestylist page what she has been going through, and how she has decided it is time for her to come forward and educate people about MS.

She has been honored by having her company included in the Martha Stewart American Made contest, and is close to winning but needs everyone’s help to help her over the finish line.

Please visit the Martha Stewart page, enroll then you can vote up to 6 times a day until Sept. 22nd.

Someone like Babette never asks for help, so I’m thrilled for a change I can be the one to help her dreams come true!

It is so exciting to see the changes that are coming in the design world. Technology is making a huge difference in the way we live, and with LED lighting becoming more affordable there are some really exciting changes coming in lighting and how we use light.

As a Lifestylist® it’s really important to me that I keep up with changes and trends so Sunday I’m heading to the Las Vegas Market. Usually  go for a day or two, but there are so many great seminars this time I’m going to spend a few extra days to learn about what’s new and what we’ll be seeing in 2014.

Customers visit model homes to see what’s new, and showing them new design trends gives them a reason to want to buy a new home. The Lifestylist® Brands visit at least 4 trade shows a year to make sure that we know what’s hot and what’s not.

Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for updates right from the show.

When you walk model homes today you can definitely see a difference in the attitude of buyers – we’ve gone from dark, gloomy homes without a lot of color to light open floorplans and design that bring the outdoors in.  White kitchens and baths are trending, and the more natural light the better in every part of the home.

The Lifestylist® Brands are  super busy and we are getting to work on amazing homes that are innovative and “push” the normal boundaries we’ve been working with. We are even working on a residence with it’s own bowling wing!

Here’s a few photos of some of the clubhouses, residences and apartments we’ve been working on – let us know what we can help you with.

TruMH Offers Value and Vision

Clayton DeSoto 32Clayton DeSoto 33Clayton DeSoto 30Recently Lifestylist Design was asked to merchandise a new home for the Clayton Home Store in Desoto, Texas.

The home being featured was on of the new TruMH homes that’s all about getting back to basics. These well designed homes are perfect for land lease communities and pricing is kept low by focusing on what factory built housing does best – keeping options to a minimum and taking advantage of volume pricing.

Just because a home is affordable doesn’t mean that it can’t have lots of style. We loved adding the Lifestylist touch to this home and showing people how much value this home has.

Finding Hope in 2013

NY2013
Another year is almost behind us, and I think most of us are looking forward to a fresh start in 2013.

Last year made it clearer than ever that nothing is more important than relationships. I feel so fortunate that I was able to spend time with my cousins I hadn’t seen in years, had some great sister time and what was most important, got to spend a lot of quality time with my kids and grandkids.

Being around the grandkids reminded me how wonderful it is to always be looking forward to tomorrow and the opportunities it brings. The amazement of what a fantastic job my kids are doing as parents, and how talented their Jr Lifestylists are keeps reminding me how important it is to spend time with family.

Here’s hoping that 2013 is filled with hope for all of us, and we remember what brings us joy.
